Worry: My Greatest Enemy

curtismega:

It’s so easy to get lost in the worry of tomorrow… money, jobs, security, opportunity. etc. In these difficult economic times, all the pillars of strength we once relied upon so faithfully are now crumbling into dust.

There are so many intangibles that seem just out of the reach of our control. And quite frankly, it’s because they are. We can work hard but often, uncertainty still abounds. What do we do then? How do carry on?

For me, the key is understanding that worry adds nothing to my life. It only diminishes the fullness of the present moment.

That is not to say we shouldn’t make goals for the future. We must prepare and work as hard as we possibly can.

By all means, we MUST! We have been given dreams and the giftings to pursue them. To not pursue them with excellence would be a travesty. The future should always be in mind but never at the expense of the present.

But there often comes a point in my life when I know I’ve done my best but the answer still isn’t heard. The provision eludes me. I am faced with rejection and must prepare myself to move on from that point.

I have to let it go to be PRESENT and be at peace. Living in the past holds me back and worrying about the future limits me in the present.

Tomorrow will come. But today is here. Live your life in the moment. Let go of worry & fear. They are debilitating.

Often,  our greatest rejections in the moment are an integral part of the journey, a molding of our hearts and character to be prepared for what is to come.  The best stories do not begin with everything working out at the beginning.

Dreams are worth fighting for.

Be open to the idea of what seems impossible! Chase your dreams with diligence. They are in you for a reason.

Live your life in love! I don’t think hate is the opposite of love… It’s fear. Let go of it. You don’t need it in your life. Be free!

Sincerely,

-Forever a dreamer (learning day by day to be a constant do-er)

Curt, you always say exactly what I need to hear. Thank you so much.
